Independent web studio
Your website is either winning you work or quietly losing it.
There's rarely a middle. We build the kind that earns trust before anyone picks up the phone: written, designed and coded from scratch, fast on any device, and yours to see working before you've paid a penny.
01 / How we build
Watch a site get made properly.
Our site looks like us. Yours will look like you. Every build runs through the same three stages, by hand, every time. Here is each one, working.
Stage 01 · The words
Written before anything is designed
We start with a conversation, not a colour palette. What you sell, who buys it, what they want to know before they commit. Then we write every page for you. Most websites fail right here, stuffed with sentences that could belong to any business on earth. Yours won't read like that.
Interview call · Every page written for you · Read-out-loud test
Stage 02 · The build
From blank file to live site
No page builders. No theme bought off a marketplace. No stack of plugins holding it together. The words become code, the code becomes the page, and nothing loads that your visitors do not need. That is why it is quick on day one, and still quick a year later.
Hand-coded · No templates · Nothing you don't need
Stage 03 · The checks
Tested like it matters
Every page speed-tested on a mid-range phone over mobile data, because that is what most people are holding. Every form fired at a real inbox and confirmed landed. Every line read out loud, since copy that trips the tongue trips the reader too. It goes live once all of that passes, and it gets watched after it does.
Speed tested · Forms fired live · Watched after launch

02 / How it works
We build yours first. Then you decide.
See it before you buy it
STEP 01
You see it before you buy it
We build a working first version of your site and send you the link. Not a wireframe, not a mood board, not a slide deck. A real site you can open on your phone and click through. If it is not right for you, that is where it ends, and it has cost you nothing but the conversation.
- Built from one short conversation about the business
- Yours to click through, share and pull apart
- No deposit, no card details, no strings
STEP 02
You tell us what's wrong with it
Then we fix it. Two rounds of changes come as standard, because a first version is a starting point rather than a final answer. Tell us what you would change in plain words. Working out how to do it is our job, not yours.
- Copy tweaks, photo swaps, whole-page rethinks
- You describe it, we translate it into changes
- Each round back with you within days
STEP 03
We put it live
Half up front, half on launch. We handle the domain, the hosting, the security certificate and the switch from your old site, which happens without your site or your email going down. Then it is yours outright: the code, the address, the lot.
- Domain, hosting and security certificate handled
- Old site swapped out without ever going offline
- Code and address yours outright from day one
03 / The deal
A site that's built once, then looked after.
The build
Your website
Written, designed and built around what your business actually does, never dropped into a template.
- Every page written for you, copy included
- Built to load fast on any phone, on any connection
- Contact and enquiry forms straight to your inbox
- Set up properly to be found on Google
- Google Business Profile set up too, if you want one
- Two rounds of changes before it goes live
Ongoing
The care plan
Optional monthly cover so the site stays live, current, and off your to-do list.
- Hosting, security certificate and domain renewal
- Backups and uptime monitoring
- Text, photo and opening-hours changes whenever you need them
- Listings and profiles kept up to date
- A short monthly note on how the site is doing
- Cancel with a month's notice, and you keep the site
Price depends on how many pages you need and what the site has to do, so you will have a fixed figure before any work starts. No hourly billing, no scope creep, and no invoice you were not expecting.
The questions everyone asks
How much does a website cost?
Every job is quoted as a fixed price before a line is written, based on the number of pages and what the site needs to do. No hourly rates, no surprise additions, and seeing the first version costs nothing at all.
How long does it take?
You will see a working first version within days of telling us about the business. From your approval, most sites go live within a week or two. Not months.
What if I don't like what you build?
Then you do not pay and we part on good terms. If it is close but not quite there, two rounds of changes are included. We would rather fix it than argue about it.
Who owns the website and the domain?
You do, outright, from day one. The domain is registered in your name and the site is yours to take anywhere. No hostage situations, ever.
I've already got a website. How does switching work?
We build the new one alongside the old, so nothing goes offline while we work. When you are happy, we switch them over, usually inside the hour, and your email keeps running throughout.
Do you only work with certain kinds of business?
No. The process is the same whether you sell services, products, appointments or expertise. What changes is what the site has to do, and that is what the first conversation is for.
Who you're dealing with
Offset is Harry.
I also run a landscaping company, which means I have spent years on the other side of this: quoting jobs, answering the phone at seven in the evening, and seeing exactly what a website that is not doing its job costs a business.
Offset runs the way I always wished the agencies I dealt with had run. Plain answers, a fixed price before anything starts, and a working site in your hands before you have paid a penny. If something is not good enough, you will hear it from me before you have to point it out.
04 / Get in touch
Tell us about the business.
If it looks like a fit, we'll build you something to look at. If it doesn't, we'll say so plainly rather than waste your time or ours.
